This is a charming lovely story. You will fly from California to medieval Pacentro, Italy. Faith is a descendant of a powerful strega (witch), though she doesn't find out how powerful her grandmother was until she is with child herself. Faith's grandmother must divulge not only her powers but also the fact that Faith and the baby are in danger.

Sending Faith on a journey to Pacentro to reverse the curse sends Faith into worlds unknown, and dangers untold. Find out what happens as Faith, her mother Julianna and her husband Connor work together to save the baby Faith carries. Lorraine tells a fabulous story.
the book cover is what attracted me to it. The gypsy putting the curse on Selena and her children lets you know its gonna be a rough ride. The conflict between the husband and wife, the wife and the gypsy is what made it compelling. In chapter 5 when Faith gets interested in the dagger, you know it's gonna get interesting. The characters were well developed, I loved it
Old Italy and new come together in this suspenseful tale of magic, mayhem and mystery. Dark gypsy magic entrenches its claws into a loving family in old Italy and hangs on to the family through six daughters. It will take the strength of the women in this family to conquer the curse and destroy the black magic around it so the seventh daughter will survive.
Lorraine Carey weaves an enchanted tale of the love, bravery and unselfishness of the strong women in this family. This book is rich with Italian history and lore, which keeps you wanting more. I highly recommend this book.
Author Lorraine Carey nails it this time, in this story of a family hiding a dark and deadly curse until it affects the granddaughter who is expecting her first child. Seems an ancient cult over in Italy has plans for her child. Loved how the story flowed with the start of how the curse began a hundred years ago in Italy and follows young Faith Bennett to modern day Newport Beach, California. The author has a unique way of bringing this one full circle. I kept turning pages with this one!
I really loved this amazing story, I was absolutely engaged with this book. It's about a family ancient curse and it go's on for decades. I couldn't put this book down it has suspenseful plots the characters felt real you absolutely must read. I appreciate well written story.
This book surprised me. I expected to enjoy it as the genre appeals to me, but I didn't expect to love it. Lorraine Carey has depicted Italy with perfection and brought to life a handful of characters you will love.

The story itself is set around a curse set on the family of protagonist, Faith, generations ago. Learning of the curse, Faith sets out on a journey to break the curse to protect her unborn child. This paranormal story will keep you on the edge of your seat with each thrilling twist.

​This is my first Carey novel, and I was pleasantly drawn in by the superb writing style. Carey's writing flows, even in transitioning scenes between Italy in the 1900's and California today. I was engrossed by the scenery of Italy and the wonderful depiction in the details. Not only are the scenes set up beautifully, the story line moves at a pace that will keep you lost in this world.

Like I said, I loved this book, and possibly this was because of the story line. It twists and turns and keeps you guessing. You'll be happily lost in the pages and will be left crying at the ending. It's exciting to say the least.

I enjoyed the characters in this tale, and possibly, although others may not agree, that of Faith's husband Connor. He's more complex than I first thought. I loved that I didn't love him, and again, I believe there is credit due to Carey for creating thought-provoking characters.

This story is supernatural and captivating. I would highly recommend this book to the YA paranormal readers.
I loved this story right from the start with the tale of a family starting with the great great grandmother who lived in a small village in Italy who became the victim of a vengeful curse and one that would befall the entire family for generations to come.

The story jumps to present day and it transitions smoothly. We find Faith, one of the young women in the D’Amici Family who learns she is expecting her first child. The details of the curse are revealed to her by her mother and grandmother as she happens to be the only one who can stop it and will have to save the child she is carrying. She will have to journey back to Italy with her mother and the two of them will be faced with a very dangerous task.

There is a great deal of mother and daughter bonding during this tragic time in their lives as painful memories are relived as they journey back to the the village that holds so many dark secrets.

Come to find out the author has a very special connection to this village in Italy and had her own paranormal experience there which made this tale all the more interesting. It sent shivers down my spine, but in a good way. Be ready, this a tear-jerker ending! A truly unforgettable tale!
